What are we all about?
Southeastern Mounted Shooters Assn was created to provide a safe and affordable venue that is very beginner friendly. Yes, we hold competition events, and we have national champions as part of our group, however, the main goal is to enjoy the sport and have fun! Our competition season runs from January through October each year. With the exception of August we typically hold a match the second Saturday of each month during our competition season.
You don’t have to compete if you don’t want to, many members (and non-members) come out to our training sessions just to improve their horsemanship and their horse!
During the competition season, we hold a weekly introductory / training clinic. The clinic focuses on horsemanship as well as mounted shooting techniques
Also during the season, we hold an open practice typically the first Saturday of each month. Although a trainer/coach is present if needed, this is primarily simply practice for anyone who feels the need!
All SEMSA scheduled events are held at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds 215 Sydney Washer Rd Dover FL.
